The Forest of Dean is one of England's oldest surviving woodlands, located in western Gloucestershire between the River Wye and River Severn. It covers around 42 square miles and is rich in history, wildlife, and folklore. The forest was once a royal hunting ground and has a long history of mining and forestry.
